FSP are committed to being an active contributor to tackling social and environmental issues. We are actively seeking more ways to reduce both our organisation’s and our employees’ carbon footprint.
Earlier this year, we announced our partnership with Ecologi, the platform for collective positive climate action, as part of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability. We are proud to be part of a network that has already contributed to more than 40m trees being planted and the reduction of 1.8m tonnes of CO2e.
In just two months, we have been able to support and provide funding for a variety of crucial climate projects. These involve contributing to reforestation, assisting developing communities around the world, producing renewable energy, and helping to provide clean water.
Our contributions have also helped to plant over 2700 trees and successfully offset over 196 tonnes of carbon. This is equal to 151 long haul flights, or over 487,000 miles in a car. We invest in wind power projects in Honduras and Mexico, preventing deforestation in the Democratic Republic of Congo and using waste biomass to produce electricity in Chile.
As we move forward, we will continue to measure and closely assess our organisational carbon footprint as well as both our direct and indirect emissions. This will help to inform and develop our environmental and social strategy as part of our journey to becoming a more climate positive workforce.
